Waterloo Membrane Sampler™ Receives Regulatory Approval in Israel

Tel Aviv, Israel The Waterloo Membrane Sampler™ (WMS™) received approval of the Ministry of Environmental Protection in Israel for the purpose of collecting soil gas samples. The WMS™ was previously approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for site-specific use in 2009.

The WMS™ is a passive permeation sampler for monitoring time-weighted average concentrations of volatile organic compound (VOC) vapors. The WMS can be a low cost alternative to Summa canisters. Originally developed at the University of Waterloo, Canada, the WMS™ has undergone years of pure and applied research and has been manufactured by SiREM since 2010. The WMS™ can be obtained commercially and analysis performed by Eurofins-Air Toxics Inc., Folsom, California. The WMS™ has been widely used in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom and in Asia. The Israeli regulatory approval is indicative of increasing acceptance of the reliability of passive samplers for monitoring indoor air and other applications. Contact SiREM for more information on the WMS™ and its applications.
