Sandra Dworatzek to Speak at RemTEC and Emerging Contaminants Summit
Sandra Dworatzek will present “Diisopropyl Ether Biodegradation in Groundwater” on Thursday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. MT at the 2024 RemTEC and Emerging Contaminants Summit. The conference will take place on October 15 through 17, 2024, at The Westin in Westminster, Colorado.
Visit SiREM at booth 215 to learn more about how the lab supports remediation of complex sites.
Sandra is a Principal Scientist at SiREM with more than 25 years of experience in bioremediation of chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, emerging contaminants, and other recalcitrant compounds. She has technical experience designing laboratory treatability studies, scaling up growth of aerobic and anaerobic microbial cultures for bioaugmentation laboratory and field pilot tests, and evaluating aerobic and anaerobic bioremediation, zero valent iron, and chemical oxidation technologies in the laboratory. In addition, she oversees laboratory treatability studies and the development and scale-up of new bioaugmentation cultures, including novel cultures to address BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes) under anaerobic conditions and 1,4-dioxane under aerobic conditions. Sandra is the industry lead on a project funded by Genome Canada to help commercialize anaerobic BTEX-degrading cultures.
The RemTEC and Emerging Contaminants Summit is focused on advancing the environmental science and remediation industry. The conference discusses technologies, applications, and policies affecting contaminated site restoration field from the world’s leading experts within the academic, regulatory, and environmental-consulting communities.
