Sandra Dworatzek and Kela Ashworth to Present at AquaConSoil 2025
Sandra Dworatzek and Kela Ashworth will present at AquaConSoil 2025 from June 16 through 20, 2025, in Liège, Belgium.
Sandra is a Senior Principal Scientist at SiREM with more than 28 years of experience in bioremediation of chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, emerging contaminants, and other recalcitrant compounds. She has specific technical expertise in the design of laboratory treatability studies, the scale-up of growth of aerobic and anaerobic microbial cultures for bioaugmentation laboratory and field pilot tests, and the evaluation of aerobic and anaerobic bioremediation, zero valent iron, and chemical oxidation technologies in the laboratory.
Kela is a Scientist at SiREM who focuses on managing bench-scale batch and column treatability studies. She has led numerous bench-scale studies evaluating remediation technologies for wide-ranging contaminants, including chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, and other recalcitrant compounds in soil, sediment, and groundwater.
AquaConSoil, hosted by the University of Liège, is a biennial event where scientists, policymakers, decision-makers, and industry representatives converge to learn, share insights, and engage on the sustainable use and management of soil, sediment, and water resources. This year’s 40th anniversary event will focus on applied knowledge in the management of soil-water systems, while introducing new and innovative components.
